Sorry, not Sarri?

Well, this is an interesting development! Zidane leaves Real days after winning the Champions League saying the club needs a new voice. Could he pop up in the Premier League, and if so, where? Not City. If they have any sense they’ll tie pep to a 20 year contract. United? Possible, although there are no rumblings of Jose leaving. Improved league position this year, Champions League next year, no trophies though.

Liverpool? Doubtful, everyone still loves Klopp and it would be hugely unpopular, and he has them where they should be and is looking forward. Spurs? No change needed there. But Chelsea? There is always uncertainty there, and to see another manager from La Liga to the Premier League would be hugely entertaining, and would certainly give Mourinho a good battle for second place next season.

In other managerial news, ex-Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard has taken charge of Derby County – and why not? What can possibly go wrong appointing someone with no experience as a manager. If Champion’s League winner, Teddy Sheringham can be a success at Stevenage… Never mind.
