Grassroots Opportunity – Japan – Six Games Left – MLS Schedule
There are so many opportunities in grassroots soccer right now and as teams prepare for the new season it is an exciting time to be involved. Here is an opportunity at to become involved in an academy, helping kids, learning how things work, and being involved in the game.
Seriously – find your local team and get involved. It will be so much more rewarding than sitting at home in your replica shirt on a Saturday watching a team on TV.
Next up – Japan. If you didn’t find a place in your heart for some affection towards Japan you must be dead inside. After losing their game against Belgium in the last seconds of the game their fans tidied the stadium and the team left the dressing room as if no one had ever been there. Huge respect to the team and the country they have so honourably represented!
Sad to think that after today there are only 6 games left in what has been one of the most entertaining World Cups many people can remember. So much excitement and surprise, and I have to admit I am a little bit looking forward to seeing Fellaini, the one man elbow wrecking machine, against Neymar, the most fragile human on the planet.
You don’t have to miss soccer between stages though. There are a few games with one of the World Cup’s missing stars Zlatan taking on Wayne Rooney’s new team, DC United on Independence Day (although Rooney isn’t available for another week).
